About Me

I have homeschooled my children for the last 8 years and it has been everything I dreamed it would be. I also work with Special Education Students and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my teaching career.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Azusa Pacific University. In 2014, I stepped away from Corporate America where I worked for a bank as an auditor to be a stay at home mom. I have two children, and I always knew that I wanted to homeschool. I started homeschooling when it wasn’t as common. But I want all the homeschooling moms out there that I admire and respect you for what you do everyday! I know that it is not easy. Now that my kids are older and more independent, I am pursuing what I wanted to do all along and that is teach! And I get to teach what I am most passionate about.

Fun fact about me: Speaking, reading and writing fluently in Spanish helped me get through college. I was able to earn some extra money by offering my interpreting services to attorneys.

About Me

The objective of this class is to introduce students to the beautiful Spanish language. I have put together an ongoing class schedule. This class is designed so that each class is building upon what we learned in the previous classes, yet independently taught so that it is an ongoing class and anyone can jump in at any time. All beginning Spanish language students are welcome to join! The goal is to learn and practice and expand our vocabulary and knowledge of the Spanish language as we go along.

Being bilingual is a beautiful skill. I feel that it is often overlooked in our society. However, all over the world people often speak more than one language. According to multiple sources more than 50% of the world population is bilingual. And, another 17% are multilingual. On a bigger scope, I wish to inspire my students to be curious about our world. Be aware that there is beauty all around. Speaking more than one language will open doors to explore, succeed as a student or professional and most importantly to be a better citizen of this world. After all, if you think about it, we are all neighbors (Vecinos).
